We’re back with another episode of How to Watch and this time we’re discussing Arena of Valor. Accordingly, with the AOV Star League Winter 2021 upcoming in the next few days, we have an event on our hands. Read on as we discuss this very exciting event which is definitely worth watching.
Event Background
In terms of background, the ASL is a seasonal event which runs from Spring to Winter to offer regular competition along the year.
Indeed, offering the top competition for the Indonesian region, the event will be taking Online in the area of Jakarta. Here, with only 6 teams attending, the stakes are high.
Accordingly, there’ll be $25,000 on the line. Specifically, the event will run from 1st October all the way to Halloween on 31st October.

Apart from prize, there’s also a few seeds to play for. Specifically, here’s how seeding will work:
- Top 3 teams earn a spot at Spring 2022 next year
- Number one team earns a spot at AIC 2021
- 3rd to 6th will earn a seed for the ASL B Series
Now, let’s move on to format.
Format
Moving on to format, there’s a lot to talk about.
Starting things off, we have the regular season which runs from October 1st to October 24th. Here, we’ll witness a double round-robin with BO3 matches throughout. After 3 weeks of competition, the top 4 teams will move on the Playoffs.
A this point in time, note that tibereaker rules apply too – with head-to-head and game difference playing a part.
Accordingly, following this the Grand Finals look to run from October 29th to October 31st. Indeed, at this point in time we’ll get to enjoy a single-elimination King of the Hill bracket. With each team fighting to stay on top, every single match will be a BO7.
