After a year of incredible competition, the 2021 season of the Call of Duty League is finally drawing to a close. Bringing the fans, storylines and best players in the world, this $2,500,000 event is one you don’t want to miss. Read on to learn How to Watch the CDL Championship 2021!
Event Background
Looking to conclude the second season of the Call of Duty League, this year’s final event looks to be slightly different than last year.
Indeed, back then the global situation remained unsafe and all was played online. However, this time around the action will be held in Los Angeles at the Galen Center.
Another change to this $2,500,000 event is the fact that not all the teams have been invited.
Although the entire league qualified last season, only the top 8 franchised squads will be present as outlined earlier in the season.
Speaking of which, the following are the 8 best competitive Call of Duty teams in the world:
- Atlanta FaZe – 525
- Toronto Ultra – 415
- Dallas Empire – 400
- Chicago OpTic – 360
- New York Subliners – 340
- Minnesota ROKKR – 305
- Los Angeles Thieves – 240
- Florida Mutineers – 210
Running from the 19th to the 22nd August, the weekend has been programmed with the best format possible.
Format
Argued as one of the best formats, combining a mixture of high stakes and adequate gameplay – the double elimination bracket is here.
With each game taking place as a BO5 (best-of-five), it all builds up to the BO9 (best-of-nine) epic grand final.
Seeding into the bracket has been determined through the final position of teams in the leaderboad. Take a look for yourself below:
For those unaware, the two ended bracket offers teams in the Winners’ Bracket a second chance should they suffer a loss. However, losing in the Losers’ Bracket is a one-way ticket to disqualification.

Predictions – CDL Championship
In terms of predictions, we’ll be focusing on the competitors into several specific tiers as named below.
Favourites – Winner Circle
- Minnesota Rokkr
- Toronto Ultra
- Atlanta FaZe
Coincidentally, all three favourites are the teams that have walked away with event wins this year.
Starting with the favourite in terms of recent performance, Rokkr currently have the momentum following their incredible victory at the Stage 5 Major.
Historically in competitive CoD, the winner of the event before Champs always seems to have the edge.
However, that’s not to count out Atlanta FaZe. Indeed, dominating the entire year with multiple event wins, they’ve been the favourite multiple times this year.
However, the only thing that matters is Champs – will they fail when it matters most like last year?
Then there’s Toronto Ultra. Another dominant machine since they brought on rookie “Insight” onto the team, they’ve suffered a bit of heartbreak at the last two events since their epic win.
However, with the best teamwork in the league, they remain a favourite.
Going with any of these three is a great idea when picking a winner.
Potential Deep Runs and Dark Horses
- Deep Runs – OpTic Chicago, Dallas Empire
- Dark Horses – New York Subliners, Los Angeles Thieves
- Unpredictable – Florida Mutineers
Let’s see who takes the cake this coming weekend!
