Event Background
For those unaware, the 2023 Call of Duty League season this year involves five Majors, followed by the CDL Championship.
Specifically, each Major is preceded by a Qualifiers event, where teams earn CDL Points. Overall, these CDL Points determine seeding for the Major together with the overall CDL Standings.
Taking place between 17th February and 5th March, the CDL Stage 3 Major Qualifies will take place online, featuring the 12 franchised teams as listed below:
- Atlanta FaZe
- Boston Breach
- Florida Mutineers
- Las Vegas Legion
- London Royal Ravens
- Los Angeles Guerrillas
- Los Angeles Thieves
- Minnesota ROKKR
- New York Subliners
- Seattle Surge
- OpTic Texas
- Toronto Ultra
Considering how essential these CDL Points are, there’s a lot on the line in these coming weeks!
Format
With regards to the format, it’s rather simple. Overall, all 12 teams will play 4 matches per team, as prdetermined by the scheduled. Each match is BO5, where each team receives 10 CDL points for each win. Seeding into the Major will work as follows:
- Top 8 – Upper Bracket in the Major
- Bottom 4 – Lower Bracket in the Major
Notably, once the Qualifiers are over, the Major will involve a double elimination bracket, where $500,000 of prize pool is on the line. Bearing this in mind, the schedule is essential and will not be the same for every team.
