Event Background
As you can imagine, this is the end of the fourth stage of the Call of Duty League season. What’s special about this Major? Indeed, what’s special is the fact that the competition will be talking place at a LAN Venue, with no crowd attention. Accordingly, it’s a chance to bypass all the issues of online and slowly begin returning to normality.
To remind our viewers, here are the 12 franchised teams that will be going at it this weekend for CDL Points and Prize Pool:
- Atlanta FaZe
- Chicago OpTic
- Dallas Empire
- Florida Mutineers
- London Royal Ravens
- Los Angeles Guerrillas
- Minnesota ROKKR
- New York Subliners
- Los Angeles Thieves
- Paris Legion
- Seattle Surge
- Toronto Ultra
Format
With regards to format, it’s a typical format which we’ve seen all year. Corresponding to the placements at the group stage these past few weeks, teams have been seeded into the double elimination bracket. Each match will be BO5 with the final once again being a BO9.

Predictions for the CDL Stage 4 Major
There’s a tonne to discuss in terms of predictions for the CDL Stage 4 Major. Let’s take things in an orderly manner – starting with favourites and finishing with potential upsets and underdogs.
Starting with favourites, it’s likely that the two top dogs are Atlanta FaZe and Toronto Ultra, with both teams sitting at the top after the group stage. What about New York Subliners? Unfortunately, the team was shook by the fact that one of their players, ‘Asim’, couldn’t make it to the event due to travel issues – instead they’ll be signing ‘Decemate’ to replace him for the weekend.
Moving further down the line, other than the favourites, next in line would be likely OpTic Chicago and Florida Mutineers in our opinion, especially with the dominance these teams can show once given the chance together with Minnesota Rokkr.
With regards to the idea of underdogs, I’d definitely place the likes of Dallas Empire, Los Angeles Thieves and Paris Legion. The remaining teams with the likes of Los Angeles Guerrillas, London Royal Ravens and Seattle Surge are simply not expected to get very far, though I also believe that such teams still have the opportunity to play teams tough.
Besides competition, there are massive expectations for this event due to the return to LAN. Specifically, it’s an opportunity to celebrate the love for the esport, to boost the viewership and to reunite the community once again after a tough few years.
