Following the conclusion of The International a month or so ago, Dota rostermania is slowing down as competition is almost here. Indeed, multiple regions are kicking off the Dota Pro Circuit once again, including North America. Read on as we provide all the viewership details for the DPC NA Tour 1: Division 1 for this upcoming year!
Event Background
In terms of background, this looks to kick off the entire Dota Pro Circuit. Indeed, for those unaware, the Dota Pro Circuit is the highest level of competition across all regions of competitive Dota 2.
Indeed, in this episode of How to Watch, we’ll be focusing on North America. It’s through the events of the DPC that teams can earn qualification points for international events.
Kicking things off with ESL One Winter 2021, this first tour will kick off on November 30th and run all the way to January 22nd. With the best 8 teams in the region, we have $205,000 on the line for the following competitors:
- Quincy Crew – Upper Division
- Evil Geniuses – Upper Division
- Team Undying – Upper Division
- 4 Zoomers – Upper Division
- simply TOOBASED – Upper Division
- Black N Yellow – Upper Division
- D2 Hustlers – Lower Division
- Arkosh Gaming – Lower Division
Do note that although many teams return from the Upper Division of last season, while two new teams are in after being promoted from the Lower Division.
Here’s how seeding will work in this upcoming Tour:
- First place – qualified to Major Playoffs
- 2nd place – qualified to Major Group Stage
- Bottom 2 – relegated to Division II next tour
- Remaining teams – remain in the current Division
Format
Anyway, with regards to the format, it’s fairly simple. A qualification event such as this one has been simplified with one single group stage.
All teams will be in one group and will go at it through a single round-robin. This means that all teams will face off one another one time in BO3 matches.

Predictions
With regards to who the best team in the world is, we’ll look back at The International to see who made it the furthest from the region.
Indeed, that would have to be Quincy Crew and Evil Geniuses as they both placed 9-12th at the largest event in the world.
However, since then we’ve seen a tonne of roster changes – who knows what new roster could come out on top to surprise everyone?!
Anyways, we’ll be keeping track of the event together with other regions, this is simply practice for bigger international events later on next year.
