Running across two separate regions, we’ll be offering you all of the details you need to enjoy your viewership experience.

Format

For both events, the format here is identical. Accordingly, the 16 teams will be thrown into one group. After a BO18 split, spread across the three days, we’ll have our final placements.

Do note that in terms of maps, the two maps of Miramar and Erangel will be alternated every 3 maps to keep things fresh.

Also, you’ll want to tune into the following in-game scoring system for the DreamHack Winter Showdown:

  • Kill Points – each single kill earned as a team is worth 1 point
  • Placement Points – 1(10), 2(6), 3(5), 4(4), 5(3), 6(2), 7-8(1), 9-16(0)
  • Match Points – Calculated by combining placement and Kill points

Schedule for the DreamHack Winter Showdown

Spread across three days, it’s not an overly complicated schedule for both events. Fortunately, we have all of the details right here below:

Predictions

It’s always tough to predict the outcome of battle royale, due to the random nature at times. Let’s try shortlist some of our picks to perform well at the event for each region!

Europe

  • FaZe Clan
  • Natus Vincere
  • Virtus.pro
  • TORNADO ENERGY

The above four are the top 4 teams from the EU Closed Qualifier Stage 2. Both FaZe Clan and Natus Vincere truly crushed it in this regard with the other two following them closely. Also, note that the larger prize pool for this region will contribute to stronger competition.

Americas

  • Team Veritas
  • Susquehanna Soniqs
  • Latin Dominus
  • A Creche

Meanwhile, the above teams are the pair of leaders from both regions of Latin and North America separately.

Besides these top teams from the qualifier, note that both TSM and Team Liquid are strong favourites. With TSM claiming the DH Spring event and Team Liquid the DH Fall event, they have experience as champions.
