With August out of the way, the CS:GO player break is over. Accordingly, the community is ready to get back to some incredible esports events. Furthermore, the ESL Pro League Season 16 is here within the week – read on to learn how to watch below!
Event Background
Indeed, the ESL Pro League is a community favourite and is the sixteenth time ESL is hosting the event. Accordingly, the Intel Grand Slam will also be on the line – teams are hoping to earn wins to try and win a $1,000,000 prize pool.
Taking place offline in an announced venue so far, the event will run from 31st August to 2nd October, Featuring the top 24 teams in world of CS:GO, a prize pool of $825,000 will be on the line. Here are the teams listed below:

Also note that apart from the prize pool, there are also BLAST Premier Points up for grabs too. With regards to seeds, 1st place earns seeds to both BLAST World Finals 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023.
Format
Just like the seasons before, the ESL Pro League Season 16 event will feature two stages of competition.
Firstly, we’ll enjoy a Group Stage with four single round robin format groups. Notably, each group has six teams with BO3 Matches. Here are the groups below:
- A: Natus Vincere, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Vitality, Fnatic, Team Spirit, Endpoint
- B: FaZe Clan, G2 Esports, BIG, Outsiders, MIBR, FTW Esports
- C: ENCE, Heroic, Astralis, MOUZ, Complexity, HEET
- D: Cloud9, Movistar Riders, Team Liquid, FURIA Esports, Evil Geniuses, Eternal Fire
For those unaware, a single round robin means that teams within each group will face one another once. Seeding for the Playoffs will be determined as follows:
- 1st place – advance to the Quarterfinals
- 2-3rd place – advance to Round of 12
Once in the Playoffs, teams will have to fight through a single elimination bracket. Teams will only have one lifeline to fight through BO3 matches where the Grand Final will be a BO5 conclusion!

Naturally, FaZe Clan and Natus Vincere remain the favourites once again. However, considering many roster changes took place in August, it’s unsure as to whether or not teams have improved or declined.
