Read on as we dive deeper into the format!
Format
Accordingly, the event has been split into two stages of competition. Firstly, we have the Group Stage. Here, the 24 nations have been split into 4 groups of 6. Here, the pairs will compete in a double round robin. Accordingly, here’s how scoring will work:
- Winning teams wins 3 points
- Drawing teams win 1 point
- Losing teams receive 0 points
Bearing this in mind, here’s how the groups have been randomly drawn:
- A: Denmark, England, Scotland, Brazil, Argentina, Singapore
- B: Germany, Sweden, France, Japan, United Arab Emirates, Peru
- C: South Korea, Portugal, Spain, Israel, Canada, Kazakhstan
- D: Poland, Netherlands, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, India
Naturally, not everyone makes it to the Knockout Stage. Specifically, only the top 4 will progress from each Group based on points earned – this stage of competition will run from 27th to 28th July.
Meanwhile, the Knockout competition will kick off on July 29th, with all progressing teams seeded into a single elimination bracket. With only one lifeline, teams will be competing over two legs against one another.
At the end of the competition, we’ll have one pair of competitions representing their nation winning the 2v2 competition!
