The 2nd season of B Site’s Flashpoint has kicked off today, and we’ve already had some spicy matches. In this article we’ll be covering everything you need to know, and how to watch Flashpoint Season 2.
Tournament’s background
Flashpoint is a team-owned league which is owned by B Site, and operated by FACEIT. There has only been one other instance of a Flashpoint event so far, and that was earlier this year, between March and April. This time round for Season 2, Flashpoint has gathered much stronger teams within Europe, which will certainly increase the level of play and will overall improve the spectator experience.
How to qualify for the main event
Most of the teams that are participating in Flashpoint Season 2, were founding members of the event. This means that they already had a slot saved for them (Cloud9, c0ntact, Dignitas, Envy, Gen.G, MAD Lions, MiBR). With regards to the other teams, BIG, Fnatic and OG were invited due to their recent results at regional events. And lastly, we have Virtus.pro and ForZe, which qualified through the closed qualifier.
Prize distribution
For Flashpoint Season 2, similar to the 1st season, the total prize pool amount to be distributed is of $1,000,000 USD. Here below is a list of how the prize money is to be spread:
- 1st – $500,000
- 2nd – $250,000
- 3rd – $100,000
- 4th – $50,000
- 5th-6th $35,000
- 7th-8th – $15,000
- 9th-12th – $0

- 13:00 GMT – Dignitas vs MAD Lions

Thursday 12th November:

The tournament will be getting streamed on the official Flashpoint Twitch.tv channel which can be found here. It will also be streamed in Russian, Portuguese, as well as Polish for all other international viewers.

Predictions
With BIG’s most recent success, MiBR and Cloud9 creating new rosters, and teams like OG solidifying themselves among top European teams, it is very hard to predict which teams will outperform others in the second season. However, if one had to guess, it would probably be BIG that will come out on top for this event. For the simple reason that they have been unstoppable whenever a team like Astralis or Heroic are not playing well / participating, and in Flashpoint, there are no such teams.
