Format
With regards to the format, the organizer of Garena has opted for a two-stage competition, with a Preliminary and Finals stage.
Kicking things off with the Preliminaries Dates, this will run from the 20th to the 21st November. Here, we’ll have 2 days of League Play with a total of 12 matches. Although not accrediting seeds for the Finals stage, the point of this stage is to let teams gain Headstart Points as follows:
- First – 4 points
- Second – 3 points
- Third – 2 points
- 4th – 1 point
Moving on to the Finals taking place on November 27th, here’s when the serious competition kicks off. Indeed, seven matches will determine the final rankings of all 12 teams for this online event. Across each of the seven games, the following points distribution will work:
- 1st – 12 points
- 2nd – 9 points
- 3rd – 8 points
- 4th – 7 points
- 5th – 6 points
- 6th – 5 points
- 7th – 4 points
- 8th – 3 points
- 9th – 2 points
- 10th – 1 point
- 11th & 12th – 0 points
And that’s that with regards to the format – this is the first time we’ll be seeing such a high stakes event for the region.
