It’s the event we’ve been waiting a while for as mobile esports enthusiasts. Indeed, the Free Fire World Series 2021 is almost upon as and we couldn’t be more excited! Accordingly, we’ve gathered all the intel and have forged a featured How to Watch featured article for you all to enjoy!
Event Background
As I’ll reiterate, this is a massive event for the competitive scene. Officially, this is the first global event of the 2021 season organized by Garena. To celebrate this, Garena has invited the top 22 teams in the world, fighting for dominance and $2,000,000.
Overall, the event will run from 22-29th May, at the end of next month. Teams fighting will involve those that have made it from Direct Invites or Play-In qualification.

- Fluxo – Liga Brasileira de Free Fire Winner

- EVOS Esports TH – Pro League Thailand Winner
- Burst the Sky – Arena of Survival Winner
Furthermore, the following are the Play-In qualified teams:

- First Raiders Bravo
- God’s Plan

Format
With regards to format, Garena has split the event into two main stages. It all starts on May 22th with the Play-In stage in the Singapore arena:
- Here, the 12 teams making it to the Play-In will fight through 6 rounds of competition earning points and kills to make it to the Top 2. Indeed, the Top 2 teams will earn a spot into the Finals
- Finals – kicking off on May 29th – the 9 teams and the top 2 play-ins will play for the full prize. Here, another 6 rounds similar to previous round will determine our final Champion.
Starting with 22 teams, this format looks to determine an overall champion of the world for competitive Free Fire.
Schedule for the Free Fire World Series 2021
In terms of schedule, the Free Fire Worlds Series 2021 Singapore will play out on two separate days. With the Play-Ins taking place on 22nd May and the Finals on 29th May, the streams will kick off at the same time on both days.

This time last year, the Free Fire World Series 2020 was cancelled due to the global situation. Indeed, it’s been two years since the last iteration, being the Free Fire World Series 2019. Since then, the competitive scene has grown incredibly in every aspect.
