After another round of regional competition, the international community of competitive Halo Infinite is coming together at the next major. Specifically, the HCS Orlando Major 2022 is right around the corner and we can’t wait. Read on as we preview how to watch this exciting event below!
Event Background
Indeed, for those unaware, the HCS, or Halo Chamionship Series 2022 is the official competitive series organized by 343 Industries. Naturally, the event will be taking place in Orlando, USA, with the top teams in the world competing alongside open bracket teams.
Overall, there’s a $250,000 prize pool on the line. Taking place from the 23rd September to 25th September, this one weekend looks to crown another international champion.

Besides the prize pool, do note that teams are also fighting to earn direct seeds to the Halo World Championship 2022 pool play – 12 up for grabs.
Format
Yes, as you can tell, 343 Industries continues to celebrate the Open Bracket format for each event.
Accordingly, a day before the event starts, the open bracket with open signups will determine 8 teams who’ll have to earn spots by fighting through BO5 matches. Indeed, here’s how seeding from the Open Bracket will work:
- Top 4 – Upper Bracket advance to Pool Play
- Top 4 – Lower Bracket advance to Championship Lower Bracket
Once complete, the Main Competition will kick off on 23rd September. Here, the 16 qualified teams will be joined by the 4 teams from the Open Bracket who made it to the Playoffs. Accordingly, this is what the groups look like below:
- A: OpTic Gaming, FaZe Clan, Acend, Chiefs Esports Club, TBD
- B: Gamers First, Native Gaming Red, Quadrant, CintaNegra, TBD
- C: Sentinels, G2 Esports, Natus Vincere, Team Cruelty, TBD
- D: Cloud9, eUnited, JLINGZ esports, Spacestation Gaming, TBD
Within the Group Stage, teams will play in a round robin, meaning that each team plays one another once in BO5 matches. Considering this, this is how seeding works once Pool Play is complete:
- Top 2 – Championship Upper Bracket Round 1
- 3rd – Championship Lower Bracket Round 3
- 4th – Championship Lower Bracket Round 2
- 5th – Championship Lower Bracket Round 1
Notably, all teams progress to the double elimination bracket. This epic Championship Bracket with BO5 matches will offer an epic conclusion to the competition.
