This year, competitive Honor of Kings has renamed the Honor of Kings Winter Champion Cup. Accordingly, the Honor of Kings Challenger Cup 2021 is almost here and we simply can’t wait. Uniting teams from all three leagues, the Cup will celebrate the competition and crown the very best team in the world. Read on as we preview the event!
Event Background
As I’ll reiterate, this has been a yearly event for a while now. Accordingly, the aim of this event is to unite teams from the King Pro League, King Growth League and National Competition. Indeed this is the highest level of competitive Arena of Valor‘s Chinese version.
Taking place offline at the Hongzhou Olympic Sports Centre, the top 13 teams in the world are heading to the venue to compete for the majority of over $500,000.

- Talent Gamiung – KPL Fall: Runner-up
- Wolves – KPL Fall: 3rd Place
- Joy Xmas Gaming – KGL Fall: Champion
- Xianyou Gaming – KPL Fall: 4th Place
- Gank Gamiung – KPL Fall: 5-6th Place
- TOP Esports Armor – KPL Fall: 5-6th Place
- HI Esports – KGL; Fall: Runner-up
- Fire E-Sports – KGL Fall: 3rd Place
- WanZhen Esports Club – KGL Fall: 4th Place
- Mad Dog Gaming – National: Champion
- Shanghai HH – National: Runner-up
- Shenzhen TLG – National: 3rd Place
Running from the 31st December all the way to January 15th, the event looks to end the season and start the year with a bang.

Format
With regards to format, there are actually two stages to the competition.
Indeed, starting on the 31st December, a total of 9 teams will compete for one of the 4 spots in the Playoffs. Here, the following teams will be participating:
- 4-6th seeds from the KPL Fall 2021
- 2-4th seeds from the KGL Fall 2021
- All three teams from the National Competition Season 4
Accordingly, these 9 teams will compete in a single-round robin. With each match played in BO1, the top 4 teams will move on to the next stage of competition, joining the remaining teams in the Playoffs.
Specifically, the Playoffs will be running from January 5th to January 15th. Here, the four qualified teams from the Last Chance Stage will join the remaining teams to compete in the Playoffs.
Seeded into a single-elimination bracket, all matches here will be a BO7, following an Ultimate Battle format.
It all concludes with a Grand Final which will crown a Challenger Cup Champion 2021.
