Furthermore, let’s dive deeper into the event!
Format
With regards to the format, there are two stages of competitino to bear in mind.
Accordingly, first we have our Play-In stage. Here, the bottom 4 LCS Acaemy teams and the 7-10 teams from LCS Proving Grounds Points will compete in a single elimination series of matches.
Each winner of the BO3 matches will progress ot the Playoffs – here are the matches:
Upper Round 1
- EG Prodigies vs GG Academy
- EG Academy vs CLG Faith
- IMT Academy vs DK Crew
- Maryville Uni vs TSM Academy
Once these matches are completed. we’ll have our Playoffs to look forward to. Here, the final teams will compete with those who made it from the Play-Ins. Accordingly, a double elimination bracket will sort out the competition.
Specifically, all matches up to the Losers’ Round 4 and Winners’ Finals will be BO3, while those matches onwards will be BO5.
As a reminder, for those unaware, a double elimination bracket means that each team has two lifelines. One loss kicks them to the Losers’ bracket, but a second loss eliminates the team from the competition.
