After previewing multiple region, we’re ready to look at North American League of Legends. Accordingly, the LCS Summer 2022 event is kicking off in the coming days. Bearing this in mind, read on for everything you need to know to watch this exciting event below!
Event Background
Picking up where the action left off in the LCS Spring split, Summer looks to continue spicing things up.
Indeed, unlike last year, points will not carry over from Spring and teams are allowed a fresh start. On the line, apart from $200,000 there are seeds for Worlds 2022 on the line.
Running from 18th June to 14th August, we can’t wait for a summer of competition between the 10 franchised teams as listed below:
- 100 Thieves
- Cloud9
- Counter Logic Gaming
- Dignitas
- Evil Geniuses
- FlyQuest
- Golden Guardians
- Immortals
- Team Liquid
- TSM
Hosted by Riot Games, this is the 10th North American LCS season. Taking place offline at the Los Angeles studio, read on as we dive deeper into the event below!
Format
Indeed, the format is similar to the Spring Split and doesn’t switch things up .
Kicking off with an exciting Group Stage, here we’ll witness a Double Round Robin. Moreover, for those unaware, this involves teams playing against one another twice in BO1 matches – 18 matches each.
Indeed, here’s how to see how seeds here will determine how teams progress to the Playoffs:
- 1-4th – Semifinals
- 5-6th – Losers’ Round 1
Teams who don’t make it in the top 6 will not head to the Playoffs. Accordingly, it’s at the Playoffs that a Double Elimination bracket, with BO5 matches will determine the overall winner of the Split and the Worlds 2022 representatives.

Predictions
As always, heading into the LCS Summer 2022 event, it’s only appropriate to take a look at the LCS Spring 2022 standings:
- #1 – Evil Geniuses
- #2 – 100 Thieves
- #3 – Team Liquid
- #4 – Cloud9
- #5-6 – Golden Guardians, FlyQuest
Finishing 3-4th at MSI 2022, Evil Geniuses are certainly the favourites, but are they the clear favourites?
Placing 4th at the LCS Spring 2022 regular season, they turned it around at the Playoffs – will they stay consistent at the Summer Split?
Regardless, we’re sure to be in for a great season of competition.
