Event Background
As the start to 2022, a lot of excitement is driving this first event. Specifically, the LPL Spring 2022 looks to answer a lot of questions. Accordingly, since last year, a tonne of roster changes have made this season even more exciting.
Bearing this in mind, the LPL Spring event will answer such questions. Inviting all 17 teams to compete for the regional event, there are almost $700,000 up for grabs. Take a look at the participants below:

Besides the prize pool, teams are also fighting to earn Points which will prove helpful for qualification to regional and international events. Moreover, the winner will likely earn a seed to Worlds 2022, though this requires further confirmation.
Boasting an offline venue, let’s discuss the details of the event further below.
Format
With regards to format, there are several stages of competition to expect. Accordingly, although the format may change in the coming days, here’s what we know so far.
First, we’ll start with a Group. Throwing all 17 teams in a group, a single round robin means that ever team will play one another once in a BO3 match. Following this round, the top 10 will move on to the Playoffs.
It’s at the Playoffs, there’ll be two stages:
- Phase 1 – King of the Hill – 3-10th seeds will compete in two brackets, where only two teams will progress to the Phase 2 to join the top 2 seeds
- Phase 2 – Double Elimination – the final four teams will compete in BO5 matches to determine the overall winner of the Spring Split
Schedule for the LPL Spring 2022
With regards to schedule, the LPL have already made public the first few weeks of competition, kicking off on 9th January while the concluding datehas not been announced.
