Format
With 17 teams, the LPL is the largest region out of the rest.
Accordingly, the format is a little more thorough.
First off, we have the Group Stage. Here, all teams will compete in a single Group with single round robin BO3 matches. Basically, after each team plays each other once, we’ll have our final Group Stage standings.
Seeding into Playoffs for the top 10 will be determined as follows:
- Top 2 – Semifinals
- 3-4th – Last Round Playoffs
- 5-6th – Second Round Playoffs
- 7-10th – First Round Playoffs
Once at the Playoffs, the format will consists of two stages. Firstly, there’ll be a King-of-the-Hill between the 3-10th seeded team. The winners, half of the teams, will progress to Phase Two and face off against first and second teams – only 4 teams progress.
Here, a final Double Elimination will take place between the final four teams. With BO5 matches, teams will earn the Worlds 2022 seeds up for grabs.
