After much anticipation, the PGL Arlington Major 2022 is almost here. Accordingly, with the top teams in the world heading to Arlington to compete, we look forward to crowning another international champion. Read on as we dive into how to watch this event!
Event Background
For those unaware, the PGL Arlington Major 2022 is only the second Major of the 2021/22 season. Specifically, by season we’re referring to the Dota Pro Circuit.
Accordingly, in order to reach this $500,000 event, teams have had to earn it. Indeed, taking place offline in Arlington, from the 4th of August to the 14th, the 17 top teams in the world are attending the event.
Bearing this in mind, the following are your competitors according to region:

At this point in time, the competition stands at 17 instead of 18 due to the likes of Xtreme Gaming withdrawing from the competition.
Moreover, apart from the prize pool, this event also serves a tonne of DPC Points up for grabs which will be might helpful especially since The Internatinoal is right around the corner!
Format
With regards to the format, there will be two stages of competition.
Firstly, the seventeen teams have been seeded randomly into two groups – here they are as follows:
- Group A: Fnatic, OG, Outsiders, PSG.LGD, Quincy Crew, Royal Never Give Up, Talon Esports, Team Liquid, Thunder Awaken
- Group B: beastcoast, BOOM Esports, Entity, Evil Geniuses, Natus Vincere, Team Asters, Team Spirit, Tundra Esports
Within these groups, teams will compete in a single round robin with BO2 matches. The stakes are outlined below for each group:
- Top 4 – Upper Bracket of the Playoffs
- 5-6th – Lower Bracket of the Playoffs
- Lower than 6th – Eliminated
Only 12 teams will progress to the Playoffs.
From here, a double elimination bracket will decide the competition, with BO3 matches building up to an exciting BO5 Grand Final!
