Format
Indeed, there are three stages of competition, coinciding with the three levels of seeding.
To start with, we have the Challengers Stage. Running from May 9-12th, here we’ll enjoy the first 16 Team Swiss System Format.
With both the Contenders and Challengers competing, all elimination and advancement matches will be BO3. While all others will be BO1, the Buchholz system will determine the remaining seeds.
Once that’s over, only the top 8 will proceed to the Legends Stage – everyone else will be eliminated.
Taking place from May 14th to May 17th, the 8 seeded teams from the previous stage will compete against the Legends seeded teams.
Rules stay the same here, with all games BO1, except for elimination and advancement matches being BO3. Once again using the Buchholz system, we’ll have our top 8.
And for the second time, the top 8 proceed while the bottom 8 are sent home.
Then finally, we’ll have our Champions Stage. Concluding from May 19th to May 22nd, a final bracket will decide everything. Specifically, a single-elimination bracket, seeded using final rankings from The Legends Stage will fight over BO3 matches to earn the glory of winning the Major!
