Accordingly, the RLCS this year involves multiple stages of competition every split. Indeed, the RLCS EU Winter Cup 2022-23 is the second stage of the Winter Split for Europe. Bearing this in mind, the competition is getting tighter – read on to learn how to watch the event kicking off this weekend!
Event Background
With regards to the event background, the RLCS 2022-23 is the twelfth season of the Rocket League Championship Series.
Following up from the changes of last year, there are three splits in the season – Fall, Winter and Spring. Within each Split, there are three stages – an Open, a Cup followed by an Invitational.
Accordingly, following the EU Winter Open, now we have the Winter Cup. Taking place online with $100,000 on the line, the event will take place from 10th February to 12th February.

Beyond the prize pool, teams are also fighting for RLCS Circuit Ranking Points which will be essential to seed to the top events later this season such as the World Championship.
Format
Moreover, the format will be similar to the Winter Open, with two stages of competition.
Firstly, we have a Group Stage with the 16 teams split into 4 groups of 4.
Here’s how the seeds have been randomly drawn:
- A: Karmine Corp, G1, Solary, suhhh
- B: Moist Esports, Quadrant, Team BDS, Tundra Esports
- C: Team Liquid, Team Vitality, Williams Resolve, MuchDelight
- D: Oxygen Esports, German Amigos, Soniqs, Endpoint CeX
Within each group, a round robin with BO5 matches will take place where each team faces one another once. Seeding into the Playoffs is as follows:
- 1st of each group – Quarterfinals Playoffs
- 2nd-3rd of each group – Round 1 Playoffs
- 4th of each group – Eliminated
Moreover, the Playoffs will involve a single elimination bracket. Overall, the final 12 teams will have to battle through Round 1 BO5 matches, while all other matches will be BO7.
