In terms of format, there’s a lot to dig into here.

Starting with the Group Stage,w e’ll have the 16 teams split into 3 groups of 4 and one group of 3 as listed:

  • A: DeToNator, FaZe Clan, Team Queso, Version 1
  • B: Endpoint CeX, FURIA Esports, The General NRG, Renegades
  • C: Evil Geniuses, G2 Esports, Team BDS, Team Secret
  • D: Dignitas, Pioneers, Spacestation Gaming,

Kicking things off, there will be a round robin in each Group with BO5 matches. While there are a tonne of tiebreaker rules and whatnot, teams will be playing each other only once to try and take it all and make it to the Playoffs.

Seeds into Playoffs will work as follows: Winner proceeds to the Winners’ Bracket, 2nd-3rd qualify to Losers’ Bracket while the 4th place teams of each group will be eliminated – note that the group of 3 will involve no eliminations.

With the Playoffs starting in March 25th, there will also be a crowd in the final two days (26th to 27th). Here, a double elimination bracket will take. All matches in the Upper Bracket will be a BO7 while Lower Bracket Round 1 and 2 are BO5 – everything else BO7.

By being a double elimination, teams from Winners’ have to lose twice to fall out of the competition.
