How To Watch RLCS X Spring North American Major: teams, format, schedule, streams, predictions

This next weekend we’ll be seeing one of the biggest Rocket League events in North America. This is because the RLCS X Spring North American Major is just around the corner. The event will feature some of the best teams in the region, all competing for the regional title. Here’s our full tournament guide of the event:

Tournament’s background

The RLCS X Spring North American Major is the biggest North American Rocket League event to happen this year. It will feature 10 of the best teams in the region and we assure you it’s going to be a stacked event. $100,000 USD are up for grabs, as well as RLCS Circuit Rankings Points, which will contribute to the North American Leaderboard.

How to qualify for the main event

For the majority of the teams participating in this event, they got their spot through their Spring Ranking. This meant that the top 8 teams of Spring would get a spot at the North American Major. The 9th team participating got their spot by winning the qualification tie breaker, and the 10th team were added due to winning The Grid Wildcard.

Prize distribution

There will be a total of $100,000 to be split between all participating teams. Here is a list of how the prize pool will be spread:

  • 1st – $36,000
  • 2nd – $18,000
  • 3rd-4th – $10,000
  • 5th-8th – $5,000
  • 9th-10th – $3,000

Tournament Format for the RLCS X Spring North American Major

Group Stage:

  • 10 teams are split into 2 groups of 5
  • These teams will play in a group round robin best of 5 format
    • In the case of a tie, game difference will be the main tiebreaker, followed by the head to head
  • The top 4 teams advance to playoffs
  • The 5th placing team gets eliminated

Playoffs:

  • Single elimination bracket
  • All Matches to be played in a best of 7 (including Grand Final)

A total of 10 teams are participating in the event and they have been slotted into 2 groups which have been revealed. Here’s a short list of all teams taking part, sorted by their group:

  • Team Envy
  • XSET

Group B

  • FaZe Clan
  • G2 Esports
  • The General NRG

RLCS X Spring North American MajorSchedule list

The event will start on the 22nd of May and will continue to play out till the day after (23rd). Here are the initial matches of the event:

Group A – Round 1

  • 19:00 CEST – Team Envy vs XSET
  • 19:00 CEST – Rogue vs Susquehanna Soniqs

Group A – Round 2

  • 19:50 CEST – Team Envy vs Shopify Rebellion
  • 19:50 CEST – Susquehanna Soniqs vs XSET

Group A – Round 3

  • 20:40 CEST – Rogue vs XSET
  • 20:40 CEST – Shopify Rebellion vs Susquehanna Soniqs

Streaming platform list

The event will stream on the official Rocket League twitch channel here. The secondary stream will be on the UGC twitch channel. As a bonus for non-english speakers, the event will stream in French and Dutch.

Predictions

There are many teams that have high chances of winning the event in North America. However, according to recent results, Team Envy and NRG probably have the highest odds at winning the entire event. Then again, this is Rocket League, an esport where anything can happen. All we can say is that this event is going to be an absolute banger.
