Since the end of 2022, we’ve been patiently waiting for competitive Arena of Valor to return to the international stage. However, before then, regional competition will seed the best teams. Accordingly, the RoV Pro League 2023 Summer looks to sort out the Thai region – read on to learn how to watch this anticipated event which kicks off in a week!

For those unaware, the RoV Pro League is the Thai professional Arena of Valor league, run by the likes of Garena Thailand. Taking place yearly, with Summer and Winter split, 2023 will be the fifth year running for the competition.

The structure for this year is no exception. Accordingly, this first split, ‘Summer’, will take place from 28th January with a scheduled end date to be announced for some time in April.

Taking place Online and Offline at the Garena Esports Studio in Bangkok, the event throws up a total of $300,000 of prize pool for the best teams in Thailand. Specifically, a total of 9 teams will be competing as usual – find them listed below:

  • Talon Esports
  • Valencia CF Esports
  • Bacon Time
  • Buriram United Esports
  • eArena
  • King of Gamers Club
  • PSG Esports
  • B Esportrs x Goldcity
  • EVOS x Thai Fight Pathum

To reiterate, apart from the prize pool, teams are competing to earn seeds for an unannounced international tournament which we’ll hear more of down the line. Regardless, teams are fully aware of the incredible opportunity which awaits the very best.

Format

With regards to the format, Garena Thailand is sticking to a trusted formula.

Kicking things off with a Group Stage, this stage starts next week on January 28th, ending on 19th March. Here, all 9 teams have been seeded into a double round robin group with BO5 matches. Moreover, this means that all teams will face one another twice, where each match win grants 1 point.

Considering a number of Tie-Breaker rules, only the top 4 teams will progress to the Playoffs. With an unannounced date, all we know is that the Playoffs will involve the final four teams, taking place in the Thailand Garena Esports Studio.

With the entire region watching, the four teams will compete in a final double elimination bracket, with BO7 matches. For those unaware, a double elimination bracket means that teams in the Winner/Upper bracket can afford one loss and be demoted to the Loser/Lower bracket. However, a loss in the Loser/Lower bracket means elimination.

Just like that, sometime in April, we’ll have a Thai Arena of Valor champion!

Schedule for the RoV Pro League 2023 Summer

When it comes to the schedule, the details of the broadcast are still to be announced. However, we strongly recommend that those interested go and visit the official Garena RoV Thailand YouTube for updated details.
