Starting next week, we’ll be seeing the 6th edition of the highly anticipated cs_summit series. Here’s everything you need to know about cs_summit 6 and how to watch the CS Summit 6.
Tournament’s background
Beyond the Summit, which is commonly referred to as BTS, is an esports production company that creates unique and authentic events, shows, and content. Cs_summit 6 will be the 6th edition of “The Summit” series. The most recent event by The Summit, which was cs_summit 5, was won by Mousesports and in 2nd was G2 esports. This year, due to the pandemic, cs_summit will be split into 2 separate events; one for Europe and one for North America.
Prize pool
There is a total prize pool of @@@ however since there will be separate events for both regions, they will not have an equal prize pool. The European summit will have $125,00 to distribute, whereas the North American summit will have $75,000 to split between the teams participating. Here below is the full prize distribution:
Europe:
- 1st – $34,000
- 2nd – $22,000
- 3rd – $17,000
- 4th – $13,000
- 5th – $10,000
- 6th – $7,500
- 7th – $5,500
- 8th – $4,000
- 9th – $3,000
- 10th – $2,200
- 11th – $1,600
- 12th – $1,200
- 13th -16th – $1,000
North America:
- 1st – $22,000
- 2nd – $16,000
- 3rd – $12,000
- 4th – $9,000
- 5th – $6,500
- 6th – $4,500
- 7th-8th – $2,500
- 9th-13th will not be receiving any winnings.
How to qualify for the main event
The teams that are playing in the 6th edition of the cs_summit are either participating due to their Regional Major Ranking, or through the open and closed qualifiers.
Tournament format
Europe:
Group Stage: Between the 24th and 28th of June, 2020
- Four double-elimination format (GSL) Groups
- 4 teams in each group
- All matches are Best of 3
- The top two teams from each group advance to the Playoffs
Playoffs: Between the 29th of June and 5th of July, 2020
- Double-Elimination bracket
- All matches (excl. Grand Final) are Best of 3
- Grand Final is Best of 5 (1 map advantage to the Upper Bracket team)
North America:
Stage 1: June 22nd – 23rd, 2020
- Double-Elimination bracket
- All matches are Best of 3
- The top three teams advance to Stage 2
Stage 2: June 24th – 28th, 2020
- Two double-elimination format (GSL) Groups
- 4 teams in each group
- All matches are Best of 3
- The top two teams from each group advance to Stage 3
Stage 3: June 30th – July 5th, 2020
- Double-Elimination bracket
- All matches (excl. Grand Final) are Best of 3
- Grand Final is Best of 5 (1 map advantage to the Upper Bracket team)

Predictions
With regards to predictions, it will be very difficult to say due to the current state of professional Counter-Strike. We are currently in a time where any team in the top 10 can beat any other team, which makes the matches very unpredictable but more fun to watch. Due to the pandemic, esports was forced to be played online, and this is the result of online Counter-Strike.
