Group Pool Draw:
- Group A: Team Empire, Darkzero Esports, Faze Clan, Fnatic
- Group B: Natus Vincere, Rogue, TSM, Spacestation Gaming
- Group C: Giants Gaming, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Liquid, MIBR
- Group D: Team Reciprocity, Wildcard Gaming, BDS Esports, G2 Esports
Every group has the same structure throughout the Group Stage:
- Opening Match 1: Team A vs. Team C
- Opening Match 2: Team B vs. Team D
- Winner’s Match: Winner of Match 1 vs. Winner of Match 2
- Elimination Match: Loser of Match 1 vs. Loser of Match 2
- Decider Match: Loser of Winner’s Match vs. Winner of Elimination Match.
The winners of the Winners’ Match and the Decider Match qualify for the playoff stages. As is always the case in a Double Elimination format, any team that loses two matches during the Group Stage will leave the tournament.
The Playoffs are also organized around a Double Elimination format. The eight qualifying teams will face each other in the Quarterfinals before the tournament is divided into two different brackets. The winners of the Quarterfinals move directly to the Semifinals, while the losers are moved to the lower bracket of the tournament tree.
The lower bracket offers an extra chance to reach the Grand Final for the teams that have already lost a match. Any team that loses a match in the Semifinals or Winner’s finals will drop down to the Lower Bracket, ensuring an extra stab at glory in the Rainbow Six Invitational.
All matches remain Best of 3 until the winners of the two brackets face each other in the Grand Final. The Grand Final is played in a Best of 5 formats.

Predictions
Last year’s Six Invitational was won by G2 Esports, who cruised through the playoffs with a total score of 7-1. However, anyone who follows Rainbow Six will know that Team Empire is usually lauded as the best team in the world. Last year they were stopped by G2 Esports in the Grand Final, but the experts are cautious about G2 Esports’ chances this year. Team Empire won an impressive eight out of ten possible tournaments in 2019, making them a major force in any R6 major and clearly the best Rainbow Six team in the world. The strongest challengers include Team SoloMid, Team Liquid, and Spacestation Gaming, but Team Empire is the clear favorite and the team to beat at this year’s R6 2020 Six Invitational.
