No, not every team makes it to the final event of the year. Accordingly, that’s the case for The International. Considering this, the last few spots are being decided via regional qualifiers. Read on to learn how to watch TI Qualifier NA 2022 below!
Event Background
As we’ll reiterate, making it to The International is everything for a team. Apart from the ridiculous prize pool up for grabs, it’s an opportunity to write history for whoever dares to do so.
Yet, not everyone managed to earn enough Dota Pro Circuit points to directly qualify for the event.
Accordingly, these teams will need to battle through a qualifier. Amongst all the major regions, the North America Qualifier will run from 3rd September all the way until 18th September.
The event looks to take place online, with 14 of the top non-qualified Dota 2 teams fighting for only two options. While first place earns a direct spot at TI 2022, second and third place will compete in a Last Chance Qualifier LAN to earn the very final spots.

Read on as we dive a little further into format of the event below.
Format
Up until now, with almost only one week left, the official format has not been revealed yet.
Anyways, in the past Valve has hosted Regional Qualifiers where 14 teams were involved. Let’s take the TI 2021 Qualifier for Western Europe as an example.
Here, teams are immediately seeded into a double elimination bracket depending on their seeding levels heading into the competition. Naturally, the lower teams start in the Lower Bracket, while higher seeded teams start off in the Upper Bracket.
With every match being a BO3, teams will compete to try and make it to the BO5 Grand Final in order to make it to The International 2022 directly.
Anyways, it’s likely that official details will be released on the Dota Pro Circuit Twitter here.
Schedule for the TI Qualifier NA

Predictions
Naturally, in such an event, we’d like to favour the likes of teams with experience competing in the Dota Pro Circuit. Here they are below:
- Soniqs (DPC Points 582)
- nouns (DPC Points 300)
- Wildcard Gaming (DPC Points 160)
As you can tell, Soniqs is the clear favourite for this event. However, newer viewers need to be aware that the roster is actually formerly Quincy Crew.
Earlier this year, the roster managed to win DPC NA 2021/22 Tour 1 Division 1. However, a 17th place finish at PGL Arlington Major may have affected their confidence.
Otherwise, it’s very difficult to predict who could upset them during the event.
