In the past few years, online CS:GO competition has always been problematic. Indeed, this idea returns this week thanks to the storm surrounding the IEM Brazil CS:GO qualifier 2023. Accordingly, read on to learn more about the ongoing situation below!
IEM Brazil CS:GO Qualifier 2023 – Questioning Legitimacy
For those unaware, the IEM Brazil closed qualifiers are ongoing, allowing teams to qualify for the next Major event. However, teams such as ENCE, Bad News Eagles, BIG and Sprout have been struggling through technical difficulties.
Specifically, teams have struggled with lagging servers and crashing clients.
Overall, to shed light on the issue, ESL was interviewed by Dot Esports, with the following statement:
After discovering the issues during the IEM Brazil qualifiers, our teams looked into the possible causes.
After trying numerous fixes, we found that the underlying problem was the routing from some players’ homes into our servers. In this case, we set up a VPN and provided this to the affected players. Hereby, we were able to largely improve the playing conditions and the teams could continue with the qualifier.
