IEM Road to Rio 2022 – Venues and Schedule
Officially, the ‘IEM Road to Rio’ is Intel’s term for the qualifiers leading up to the Rio Major later this year.
Qualification involves three regions and multiple heats. Note that teams will be qualifying in Tiers, either as Legends, Challengers or Contenders in that diminishing order.
Here are some details for each Europe with regards to locations and seeding:
Europe – 32 teams competing at venue in Malta
- Qualifier #1 – (1-4th Legends), (5-6th Challengers), (7-8th Contenders)
- Qualifier #2 – (1-3rd Legends), (4-7th Challengers), (8th Contenders)
Americas – teams competing from Stockholm
- Qualifier – (1st Legends), (2-3rd Challengers), (4-6th Contenders)
Asia – teams competing from PAX Australia, Melbourne
- Qualifier – (1-2nd Contenders)

Indeed, only the top 24 teams in the world will make it to the $1,000,000 Major in October.
