The League Championship Series, commonly known by its acronym, the LCS, has decided to rebrand for the 2021 season. Here’s a peek at what it looks like:
LCS rebrand for 2021 season
This isn’t the first time that the LCS has undergone a rebrand. The LCS first changed its appearance in 2019, when the EU LCS transferred to the LEC. Obviously the LCS logo felt ancient in comparison to the new LEC. So its definitely a good showing from Riot, announcing a new look for their North American League.
With the rebrand, Riot have also made a separate youtube channel for future content to be uploaded to. This is their new youtube – https://www.youtube.com/LCS

As with every rebrand or change of logo, you cannot please everyone. That being said, it’s fair to say that to some it felt like a fresh and brand new look. Whereas to some, it felt like it was rushed, and doesn’t match with what the LCS represents.

We’ve seen multiple rebrands from other League of Legends leagues. Most notably the LPL a few months ago, and LCK last week. It’s clear that Riot are making each and every league entitled to its own qualities, as if it was its very own entity. Hopefully this will create more rivalries within and in between leagues, and will help League of Legends esports grow further.
