Indeed, this past weekend we were excited for the LCS Spring Split Finals 2022! Accordingly, with only one seed available for MSI 2022, the finals were set to be very exciting. Yet, over and done quickly, we have a new LCS champion!
LCS Spring Split Finals 2022 – A Quick Final
Heading into this past weekend, the community was ready to enjoy the Grand Final between 100 Thieves and Evil Geniuses. With $200,000 on the line, the top 10 teams in the region fought to reach this point.
Reaching the Grand Final, 100 Thieves were there trying to defend their title from LCS Summer 2021. Yet, the uprising franchise of Evil Geniuses caught their opportunity to have their first win. Sweeping the opposition, here’s their journey summarized:
- Upper Bracket Semifinals – Team Liquid vs Evil Geniuses (3-2)
- Lower Bracket Semifinals – Evil Geniuses vs Cloud9 (3-0)
- Lower Bracket Final – Evil Geniuses vs Team Liquid (3-0)
- Grand Final – Evil Geniuses vs 100 Thieves (3-0)
Indeed, they are new champions, having never won since forming as a franchise. Especially following a disappointing season last year, let’s see what they can do at MSI 2022:
