LoL 2021 All-Star Event – No Venue, No Event
Accordingly, as you can expect, the reason behind this decision is in fact due to the global health situation.
Yet, last year the event was online – why couldn’t it be online this year? Here’s Riot Games’ reasoning on the matter:
While we assessed switching to an online format like we did for ASE 2020, we do not feel that this format truly captures the spirit of ASE, which is to bring pros, influencers, and fans together to celebrate the LoL Esports season with cross-regional competition.
We want to sincerely thank all of our fans, players, and partners for supporting us this year.

Honestly, it makes a lot of sense. Basically, why host this community event without the community?
With that being said, we’ll have to wait until January before we can return to enjoying competitive League of Legends at the highest level.
