The LPL 2020 Regional Finals looks to be the last chapter for the region. Following the Summer Playoffs, two of the three spots for Worlds 2020 were taken up. Running from 28-30th, the event offered four teams a second chance at fighting for qualification. Let’s recap.
Bearing in mind the number of teams, the event was very short with a few games. In terms of format, the four teams are seeded according to their season placements. Here are the four teams:
- Suning
- LGD Gaming
- Invictus Gaming
- FunPlus Phoenix
Accordingly, here’s how the bracket filled up:
- First and Second seed fight for Worlds Qualification spot – loser faces winner of other match to earn Play-In spot
- Third and Fourth seed fight for Play-In spot – winner faces loser of above match to earn Play-In
Indeed, the LPL 2020 Regional Finals ended with two winners. Suning managed to convincingly take the series over LGD Gaming. Otherwise, LGD Gaming redeemed themselves by beating out Invictus Gaming. According to predictions, the matches concluded as expected.
Not many spots for Worlds remain – less than 10 are available before all the action gets underway. With the LPL concluded, be sure to keep a close eye on other regions.
