With many region Playoffs finishing up, everyone’s waiting for MSI! Indeed, the Mid-Seasonal Invitational is one of the top events of the year. However, an update which just went public has affected the LPL Spring 2022 MSI Seeds – read on to learn more!
LPL Spring 2022 MSI – Staying Safe
Amongst a number of announcements concerning the event, the LPL has been affected most.
Specifically, this is due to the health situation regarding the Chinese region. Here are comments from Naz Aletaha, the Global Head of LoL Esports:
Currently, the LPL (our Chinese regional league) is facing ongoing pandemic challenges, and as a result, the league’s MSI representative will be unable to travel to Busan, Korea.
However, after extensive diligence performed by our technology, events, and competitive operations teams, we are able to allow the qualifying LPL team to compete remotely from China.

In terms of competition, Riot Games are doing their best to keep the tables even. Likely competing remotely with a 35ms ping, games should carry on as planned.
Indeed, this is a better alternative to the disqualification of these teams – remember that LPL is one of the top regions for League of Legends!
