Na’Vi crowned champions of European League – How did they do it?
Natus Vincere started the European League with a strong performance. By play day 3 they had 3 wins in a row versus TrainHard eSport, Cowana Gaming, and Team Secret. On the 4th day they were challenged by the mighty Virtus.pro roster but Na’Vi still came out with the overtime win. At this point, Natus Vincere was 2nd in the standings, just under BDS Esport.
The 4th playday was another overtime victory for Na’Vi as they won the head to head versus BDS Esport 8-6. Unfortunately on play day 6, the team had its first overtime loss, and this was against Team Vitality. On the 7th and 8th day, Na’Vi won both matches versus Rogue and Team Empire with dominance. By this time they were already declared champions due to BDS having more overall losses.
Despite the win in the 1st stage of the European League, Natus Vincere is far from a perfect team. In fact, in their 9th match of the league versus G2, they had one of their worst defeats yet. They lost the match 7-2 to G2 esports, which placed 5th in the league.
Being Top-1 doesn't mean you can relax. There's still a lot of work ahead. GG, @G2esports!#R6 #R6EUL #navination pic.twitter.com/BAzbbkaucp
