The Swedish Ninjas In Pyjamas have announced that they are signing Dev1ce from Astralis as their new Awper. Here is their announcement below:
Who is Dev1ce?
25-year-old Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz (also known as Devve) is a familiar face amongst many in the CS:GO scene. He’s been playing Counter Strike since 2011 (CS:Source) and has been on multiple teams. Most notably: Copenhagen Wolves, Heroic, Dignitas, TeamSoloMid, and Astralis. He is considered as one of the world’s best players to ever touch the game of Counter Strike. This is because of his dominance with the Danish Astralis lineup during the years of 2018-2020.
Here are some of Dev1ce’s biggest achievements:
- 1st in StarLadder Berlin Major 2019 – 8th September 2019 – $500,000
- First in IEM XIII Katowice Major 2019 – 3rd March 2019 – $500,000
- 1st at FACEIT Major: London 2018 – 23rd September 2018 – $500,000
Ninjas In Pyjamas signing Dev1ce – Why him?
With his experience and talent, Dev1ce can be the perfect fit for this very young NiP CS:GO team. He has 4 majors under his belt, and a myriad of victories at tournaments, defining his legacy as a CS:GO professional.
With this change, the NiP CS:GO lineup is as follows:
Players:
- Fredrik “REZ” Sterner
- Nicolas “Plopski” Gonzalez Zamora
- Hampus “hampus” Poser
- Erik “ztr” Gustafsson
- Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz
Coach:
- Björn “THREAT” Pers
It’s going to be very exciting to see Dev1ce under the shining colours of the Ninjas rather than the usual red star. One thing is certain, the Astralis dominance is concluded, and now a different team can take their spot. Who knows, maybe Dev1ce just might make the Ninjas a major winning team!
