This past weekend we saw a lot of esports events take place, and in one of them, we saw NRG win the RLCS X North American Major. Here is how it all went down:
NRG win RLCS X North American Major – How did they do it?
They first started it all with a 3-2 victory against Version1 in the Winners Quarterfinals. They then advanced onto the Winner Semifinals against Spacestation and won 4-1. Team Envy’s mighty roster was next in the Winners’ Finals, and despite Envy’s recent success, NRG came out on top to get into the Grand Finals.
Finals
Whilst NRG were pulling off some great performances in the winners bracket, Rogue were slowly creeping up the lower bracket. They beat teams like G2 Esports, Spacestation Gaming, The Peeps as well as Team Envy to get into the Grand Finals. With so many storylines involved, this was surely going to be a grand final to remember. NRG took 2 wins of their own to kick things off. Rogue then replied with 3 consecutive wins, leaving them at bracket reset point. NRG held their ground and won one more, but unfortunately it was not enough. Rogue took the final point and grabbed a bracket reset in the grand final.
Rogue carried the momentum onto the next stage of the best of 7, and won the initial match. NRG however, were determined to get back into the finals and won 2-1 in OT in the 2nd game. Rogue fired back with a dominating 4-1 scoreline in the 3rd game to get into the lead. This is where NRG packed up the defense in a stronger manner and held 3 solid performances to win the series and the Finals. Here are the final moments of the last match:
