NRG win RLCS X Spring North American Major – How did they do it?
Group Stage
NRG started it all by getting a 3-1 scoreline during the group stage. They won against G2 Esports, Version1, SpaceStation Gaming and only lost against FaZe Clan.
Playoffs
Their first match-up in the playoffs was against one of their main rivals, Envy. This team Envy roster has shown a lot of promise in recent events, and was one of the tournament favorites. During this game, NRG stepped up big time, winning the series with a clean 4-0.
With this win, they moved on to play the semifinals against Rogue. They too have had solid performances recently, but they didn’t show their potential in the semis as they got stomped by NRG 4-2.
Grand Final
Whilst NRG were climbing the top bracket, G2 were slowly working their way up the bottom bracket. To get their spot, G2 esports took down the Susquehanna Soniqs as well as FaZe Clan. Heading into the Grand Final match-up, no one was sure who was going to win. Games went back and forth, but with such a great tournament run, NRG were unstoppable all throughout. They won the series 4-2, and were crowned champions of the final major event in the 10th season of RLCS. Here are the final moments of that series:
