A quick change of events has hit the competitive PUBG Mobile season. Nothing major of course, but the PMPL South Asia Championship has just been postponed for a particular reason. Moved to June 10-13, let’s figure out why!
PMPL South Asia Championship – An Entire Month
Tencent revealed today in a press release, on their instagram account, that the event will be moved an entire month. Originally planned for May 13-16th, the event has been postponed by a month to June 10-13th.
However, no reasoning was providing with regards to why this has taken place.
It’s certainly unfortunate. As we previewed here on esportsguide, the top 16 teams in the region were going to battle out in the inaugural competition for the South Asian region.
Indeed, in my opinion there is a clear reason as to why. Unfortunately, due to the turbulent health situation in the South Asian region, it’s likely that Tencent was advised not to host the event. Likely, this decision is being taken to protect players and staff and their health.
Was it necessary to delay the event by a month? We’re not sure, but we’re excited regardless. All we can do is keep our viewers up to date and stay tuned for any further updates.
