It has been announced that PUBG Mobile will be returning to India as Battlegrounds Mobile India. Here is the announcement:
Battlegrounds Mobile India – What is it?
Battlegrounds Mobile India, developed by South Korean game developer KRAFTON, plans to have a similar gaming experience to PUBG Mobile. As stated by them, they will offer a “world class AAA multiplayer gaming experience on mobile”. A great feature that this game will have is that it will also launch as a free-to-play game, on a variety of mobile devices.
The game will have a short period of pre-registration before launch. This will obviously only be eligible for play from India, as the game’s main scope is for those players. The game developer KRAFTON will continue to partner with other companies to build a solid esports ecosystem, while also adding new and interesting in-game content on a frequent basis. Origins
In September of 2020, the Indian government revealed that they will ban the PUBG Mobile game in their country. This was not the only one banned, as they removed an additional 117 more Chinese mobile apps. The main reason for this was probably security and privacy breach from these apps. Now with the creation of Battlegrounds Mobile India, they put protection of privacy of as their main priority.
