Indeed, PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds is known as one of the first battle royale’s in the modern wave behind the trend. Accordingly, its release back in 2017 saw the genre finally get back on track. Three years later, the game is still quite lively together with a healthy competitive scene. For these reasons, we highly recommend that you check out our PUBG Tips and Tricks below!

Mechanical Skill

Although the title can be played on both PC and console, apart from mobile, the main competitive scene is found on PC. Therefore, our tips will focus on mechanical skills pertaining to keyboard and mouse. Similar to titles such as Rainbow Six Siege and CS:GO, headshots are the name of the game here.

Here are our PUBG Tips and Tricks for the game:

  • Peeking – the underutilized in-game mechanic can really change your game up. Staying in cover and peeking with just the top of your head showing is great for any gunfight and is recommended for every single fight possible
  • Naturally, we need to talk about aim. As a serious player, you’ll need your aim to be flawless and purely mechanical. This can come about naturally through simple practice, though we also recommend that you use aiming software. Also, definitely experiment with sensitivity and peripherals.
  • Movement – getting in between cover is the name of the game for battle royale. You don’t wanna be getting picked off after scavenging so hard. Mastering the movement will come secondary to your aim.
  • Memorize your inventory – when your swapping guns and items out, you’ll need to be as quick as possible. Accordingly, this can save your life in the heat of battle when your desperate for ammo. Take your time to practice being as quick and efficient as possible.
  • Master the driving mechanisms of every vehicle – you never know when you’ll need it

In-Game Knowledge and Awareness

As a battle royale, knowledge and awareness definitely come first. Most people can aim, but not everyone has the game-sense to claim that chicken dinner. Here, tips would be similar as for the mobile title in this regard.

Read on for our In-Game Knowledge and Awareness section of our PUBG Tips and Tricks:

  • Combining aim together with distance judgement – you’ll want to practice how to consider the drop-off due to the gravity. Likely, this will develop with experience.
  • Knowing every nook and cranny of each map. Accordingly, you’ll be prepared for any opportunity and be aware of any possibility as the circle could conclude. You’ll also want to know where the best loot is in order to best calculate where to land when you need to.
  • Knowing which items are the best. With limited space in your backpack, you’ll make sure to know that you only harbour the top equipment for any situation. For this, you’ll want to keep up to date with all the PUBG patch notes.
  • Evaluating the risk behind going for drops. Although they can offer some of the best loot in the game, you need to consider the risk of everyone knowing exactly where you are and potentially in the open too.
  • Knowing when to use vehicles, and the right one too. Many players are often to scared to venture onto a vehicle as this could draw attention. It does, but most of the time, many people are too worried to shoot you as they would inevitably draw attention to themselves. If you’re brave enough, vehicle use could be the difference between winning and losing.

It’s common knowledge that the random nature of battle royales can be quite infuriating for both teams, and especially individuals where you cannot get revived. Bearing this in mind, here are some more PUBG Tips and Tricks:

  • When in a squad, the concept of reviving comes into play. Even though everyone will be begging for you to revive them, it’s up to you to evaluate whether or not you’ll make it out alive or not.
  • Work with your teammates – cover angles when moving or camping out in any buildings. Accordingly, you’ll also want to share resources with one another to ensure that you’re all prepared for any gunfight. Also, it might be ideal to partition roles – snipers, mid-range and close-range specialists to be prepared for any situation.
  • Stay calm. Battle royales, especially in the final circles, can get incredibly stressful. However, keep in mind that usually, those who make it that far are just as hungry to win as you are.
  • Especially if you’re in a tam, make sure to discuss why you’ve lost or won a game after its completion. Like this you’ll hopefully constantly move forward and learn from your mistakes.
