R6S Major Charlotte Update – Community Discussing
Anyways, heading into this event, Ubisoft made accomodations for teams who couldn’t make it to the event.
Specifically, the likes of w7m, Team oNe and FURIA from Mexico couldn’t travel to the Charlotte venue in USA. Indeed, these teams would be allowed to play from Mexico City connected via South Central U.S online servers.
Accordingly, today the following announcement, via caster Blue has been made:
All games from this point forward, regardless of where the teams are located, are going to be played on the LAN build. The decision was made in the interest of competitive integrity.

Indeed, by having to play on a LAN build, this means that these Mexican teams will have to suffer a higher latency during gameplay.
This has definitely caused discussion within the community. Indeed, we’ll have to see if it has much of an effect.
