Out with the old – in with the new. Competitive Rainbow 6 esports has just taken its first steps forward to becoming a major esport. The following is a quick run-down of the changes, and what the Rainbow Six Esports North American League is all about.
The Rainbow Six Pro League is officially done and dusted. This June, two Regional Divisions – the U.S and Canada – will compete across a single division with eight and four professional teams respectively in their own offline leagues.
- For the semi-pro scene, a North American Challenger League will be put in place, with eight teams per region trying to reach pro-level.
- Competitive seasons will span the majority of a year, running from March to end in February with the Six Invitational Global Championship.
- 3 five-week Stages – each Stage leading to a Major with 16 teams
- For 2020, there will be two Stages as it’s already May
- Best-of-three weekly matches to be one of the four regional teams to enter quarterly Major
- World Champion Crowned at Six Invitational – placement through Global Standings Points
