Planned for 2021, the Tier 1 esport looks to take another step forward. Harking on some players’ love for showing off their nationality, such as notable Canadian player of “xQc“, it’s a chance for glory. Here are some awesome facts to note:
- A total of 45 countries will be represented
- 14 countries have a direct invite to the Final Stage, while the 31 others will fight for the 6 other spots
- Qualifiers will be in 2021, with the main event mid-2021
- The Rainbow Six World Cup is a separate entity to the current leagues
- Teams will be selected starting September 14th, by appointed national committees – 5 players for each team with a maximum of two players from the same organization
Overall, this is an incredible announcement and an event the community looks forward too. Indeed, Ubisoft can use national pride to help generate more attention and love for the game and the industry too. It looks to be one of the best events of next year.
