Here at esportsguide we’re keeping things fresh with a new series called ‘Regional Rumble’. Specifically, in this series we’ll be comparing statistics of esports across regions to confirm where the top dogs lie. In this inaugural episode, we’ll be diving into the recent Spring Playoffs events – let’s compare LoL Viewership!
LoL Viewership – LCK and LEC Dominating
As a note, do bear in mind that viewership isn’t everything. Yes, it’s a big piece of an esport, but it doesn’t account for other aspects. In this comparison/ranking, we’ll be strictly listing the statistics from the recent Spring Playoffs – including the entire season and the final games – thanks to Esports Charts!
Without further delay, here are the figures:
- LCK Spring 2021 – 836,062 Peak, 232,239 Average
- LEC Spring 2021 – 831,198 Peak, 309,958 Average
- LCS Spring 2021 – 415,731 Peak, 176,012 Average
- LPL Spring 2021 – 272,306 Peak, 38,612 Average
- PCS Spring 2021 – 54,773 Peak, 17,300 Average
- LCL Spring 2021 – 44,944 Peak, 14,871 Average
In bold, I’ve highlighted our top 2 regions for viewership. Indeed, having the LCK on top is no surprise to anybody. However, I’m pleasantly surprised to see how close LEC sit behind them, with an even higher average viewership.
It’s also here that the LCS is heavily trailing – definitely some work to do. While we haven’t including every single league in the world (as that would be insane) the remaining leagues such as the PCS and LCL help provide insight on how lower tiers are performing.
And that’s it really – we hope to continue this series across many esports!
