Former Rocket League pro player Rizzo, and G2 Esports have announced that they are officially parting ways. Here’s their announcement:
Rizzo and G2 Esports officially parting ways – What happened?
A few weeks back we wrote a piece about Rizzo stepping down from the main G2 Esports Rocket League lineup. To reiterate, he decided to step down due to loss of motivation towards competing. Because of his change, G2 Esports opted to bring on Andres “dreaz” Jordan to the main squad.
He joined the team as a temporary stand-in to aid the team in their upcoming matches in RLCS X. With his help, the team finished in 3rd/4th place in the RLCS X North American Championship. Unfortunately we do not know if he’ll be a permanent fit for the team, but we can expect an announcement soon.
What’s next for Rizzo?
While competition will be avoided by Rizzo, the option to coach a team in NA is certainly on the table. If you’ve been around the Rocket League competitive scene you know that Rizzo is one of the most experienced players around. With his talent, experience, and connections, he could certainly step-in and go for the coaching role in the near future. If that’s also off the charts, Rizzo’s got a great community on his twitch stream. He is a great entertainer and could certainly make a living out of it if he decides to stay on that path.
