Rocket League Esports 2023 Road Map – Event Schedule
Accordingly, for those unaware, the highest tier of competitive for Rocket League is the RLCS. Short for the Rocket League Championship Series, Psyonix hosts the yearly circuit yearly.
This year, they’re keeping the same schedule they experimented with last year. Indeed, this will involve three splits of competition followed by a World Championship in the post-season to crown an official champion.
Already kicking off in December, with the first Major already complete, here are the dates of the remaining events:
- Fall Split Major – 8-11th December
- Winter Split Major – 6-9th April
- Spring Split Major – 6-9th July
- World Championship – 4-13th August
Naturally, before each event, there are a series of regionalopen and closed qualifiers for the following regions:
- Europe
- North America
- Oceania
- South America
- Middle East and North Africa
- Asia-Pacific
- Sub-Saharan Africa
Indeed, this global approach is definitely great and will help with the longevity of the esport.
Also, if you take the time to count, the upcoming season will feature 21 qualifier events before each of the three major events – that’s an insane amount of competition!
All year long, everyone will be trying to qualify for the RLCS World Championship, which solely relies on points which teams may earn at each qualifier and major to be counted up at the end of the season.
This past year saw some incredible growth for competitive Rocket League, with the World Championship garnering over 367,000 peak viewers in a new record for the esport.
