Yesterday, Riot Games released a statement which states that former Sentinels VALORANT pro Sinatraa is banned from all VALORANT competition till next September. Here is their statement:
Sinatraa banned from VALORANT Competition till September – Why?
As you may know, Sinatraa has been inactive from the VALORANT competitive scene for quite some time. This happened due to sexual allegations between Jay “Sinatraa” Won and his ex-girlfriend. The investigation was still ongoing throughout this time, but it ended yesterday as Sinatraa was unable to provide the evidence that he promised that he had. Due to non-cooperation from his side, Riot have opted to hand him a 6-month ban from competition.
The ban ends on the 10th of September, just after the Stage 3 Challenger season + Masters conclude. This means that he’ll be eligible to continue his VALORANT career for the Last Chance Qualifiers and Champions event.
Sinatraa’s response
After Riot’s statement, Sinatraa took to twitter to apologize and state his thoughts on twitlonger. He added that he does not possess the evidence required for the investigation to continue and that he will take the following months to develop a better set of interpersonal skills. Here is his statement:
Since Sinatraa’s benching from the Sentinels lineup, the team has been doing quite well. Now, the Sentinels are tasked with the Stage 2 Masters Reykjavík event, set to take place on the 24th of May. Do you think the team will be successful without their main player?
