Heading into the Rainbow Six Major this weekend, multiple storylines were in place. Accordingly, following the last event, there were questions over which region sits on top. However, in this Six Charlotte Major recap, we’ll dive into the event and describe how DarkZero took it for NA!
Six Charlotte Major Recap – NA Back on Top
So, who are DarkZero? Accordingly, competing in North America since the beginning, they’ve never found success internationally. Heading into this event, they were definitely not favourites at all for this event.
Yet, somehow, the following final standings came forward:
- #1 – DarkZero Esports
- #2 – Astralis
- #3-4 – Oxygen Esports, Team Liquid
So how did this happen?
Starting in Group C, DarkZero kicked off well with a 2-3-1 score, earning the top spot in the Group. Within the Playoffs, the team fought through the following games:
- DarkZero vs Team oNe eSports (2-1)
- Team Liquid vs DarkZero (1-2)
As you can see, DarkZero took down two of the top teams in Brazil – the region which dominated last year. However, following Six Invitational 2022, with TSM reigning, North America has come back.
And they proved this further in the Final. Accordingly, in an epic match against Astralis which went to the final map, DarkZero took it 3-2 from the European champions.
