Terence “SoOn” Tarlier has announced that he is retiring from professional Overwatch to play and compete in the game of VALORANT. Here below is his statement:
SoOn retiring from Overwatch – Why?
In his statement, SoOn does not mention the clear reason for the switch, but heavily refers to his determination towards esports. He’s competed in Overwatch for about 5 years, and has been under numerous roster and organisations. Most notably: Misfits, Los Angeles Valiant, Paris Eternal, and most recently, Boston Uprising. He’s been a part of the competitive side of Overwatch since the beginning, and has had some excellent performances in his career.
Here are some of his best achievements in Overwatch:
- 2nd in OWL Inaugural Season – 17th June 2018 – $200,000
- 3rd/4th at OWL Inaugural Season Playoffs – 28th July 2018 – $100,000
- 1st in OWL – Inaugural Season Stage 4 Title Matches – 17th June 2018 – $100,000
- 1st at Overwatch Open – 30th September 2016 – $100,000
What’s next?
SoOn has had a long history with the game of Overwatch and is finally settling down and giving it a break. Despite his necessary time away from the game, he is still eager to compete and involve himself with Esports, and has revealed that his next move forward is VALORANT. He has shown full confidence in the switch, but as he states, he does not know what he’s getting into, nor what the future holds.
