Spacestation wins the 1st Fall NA Regional event of the RLCS Season X, versus longtime rivals NRG. They have defied all odds and dominated the North American region.
Spacestation wins – How did they do it?
Stage 1
In the first stage of the event, Spacestation were placed in Group A, up against teams like: The Peeps, Charlotte Phoenix, Rogue etc. They kicked off the event by placing 2nd in the group stage, winning versus Zookeepers, Kansas City Pioneers and EUnited.
Stage 2
Their placement at the 1st stage of the event qualified them for the 2nd stage, which was the ultimate challenge for SSG, as they were up against the best teams in North America. Despite the strong teams in their group, Spacestation still managed to get 1st place with 3 wins versus Pittsburgh Knights, NRG, and G2 respectively. Next up were the playoffs.
Playoffs
Spacestation were placed versus the Susquehanna Soniqs in the Quarterfinals. The Soniqs were no match for SSG as they lost their best of 5 series 0-3, favoring Spacestation. Then came the Semifinals versus The Peeps, which had just beaten G2 in a best of 5. They gave Spacestation a much harder challenge, as the last match was pushed up until the 7th game of the best of 7 series, but eventually Spacestation took the win.
Finals
After their amazing performance during the playoffs, SSG were rewarded with a spot in the Grand Finals. They were up against NRG, which were the favorites heading into the series. The first game ended 2-0 in favor of SSG, however NRG bounced back with a 3-0 win in the 2nd game. Spacestation then held a strong defense in their 3rd game, and won 1-0, to get back in the lead. Afterwards came the 4th game, which was a much closer game than the previous ones. As NRG managed to score 2, but SSG scored 3 to win the 4th game and get match point. Then came the 5th and final match, where Spacestation sealed the deal by winning the match 2-1. Securing their title as North America’s Fall Regional Champions.
Spacestation’s Rocket League team has definitely been on the rise lately, securing wins at RLCS Season X – Fall: The Grid NA – Week 1, RLCS Season X – Fall: The Grid NA – Week 3, and here at the 1st Fall NA Regional event of the RLCS Season X. They have certainly shown that they are one of the best teams North America has to offer and we can’t wait to see them win more championships in future events!
